Website Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Dvaitam Ventures LLP ("Dvaitam", "we", "us") handles information about you when you use our website at dvaitam.com. It covers the website only.

Our Dvaitam Android app (package com.dvaitam) is a separate product with different data practices — a staff tool that keeps its data on the device and transmits nothing. It has its own privacy policy.

We are an engineering and clean energy contractor, not an advertising or data business. We collect the minimum needed to answer an enquiry and deliver a project, and nothing that exists only to be monetised.

Almost everything we hold about you is information you chose to send us when making an enquiry. The enquiry form on the website asks for your name, company, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in, your site location and a free-text description of your project. Only the fields marked as required must be filled in.

The enquiry form does not post to a server. It is validated in your browser and then opens WhatsApp with your enquiry pre-filled as a message, which you send yourself. That means your enquiry travels to us through WhatsApp and is handled under WhatsApp's own privacy policy in addition to this one. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, email or telephone us directly using the details at the end of this page.

If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp without using the form, we hold whatever you send us in that message — typically your name, contact details and the details of your project, along with any drawings, bills or site photographs you choose to attach.

Some technical information is recorded whenever anyone visits a website. This section is about the website only — the mobile app is covered separately below, and it collects none of it.

We use what you send us to do the work you contacted us about, and for the record-keeping that comes with it.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you send us an enquiry or engage us for a project, and for the legitimate uses that Act permits — including performing a contract with you and complying with the law. Where you are contacting us from outside India, the equivalent grounds under your local law apply.

You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing it does not affect processing already carried out, and it may mean we can no longer progress an enquiry or support work already delivered.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. Information is shared only where it is needed to deliver what you asked for or where the law requires it.

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are kept only as long as they are useful for follow-up, and are deleted after that. Records relating to projects we deliver are kept for the life of the installation and for as long as tax, statutory, warranty and subsidy-scheme obligations require — an engineering record is only worth having if it is still there when someone needs to check it years later.

In the app, a proposal and the bill stored with it stay on that handset until someone deletes them. Deleting a proposal deletes its bill and its PDF at the same time, and clearing the app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app removes everything it holds. Because none of it is kept on a server, uninstalling the app deletes that data with it.

You can ask us to delete information about you earlier than this, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it.

The website is served entirely over HTTPS, so traffic between your device and our site is encrypted in transit.

The app protects what it holds differently, because it holds it locally rather than sending it to us. Its data lives in the app's private storage, which Android keeps isolated from other apps. Sign-in passwords are never stored — only a one-way value derived from them using a deliberately slow, memory-hard algorithm, kept in the Android keystore and impossible to turn back into a password. Repeated failed sign-in attempts are progressively slowed down. We should be straight about the limit of this: an app on a device that can be lost or handed over cannot offer absolute security, so staff are required to keep the device under its own screen lock and to sign out before letting anyone else use it.

We do not collect payment card details, bank credentials or government identity numbers through the website or the app. If a project requires such documents, they are collected through a separate, agreed channel — never through a web form.

No system is perfectly secure. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of what we hold, and we limit access to the people who need it to do the work.

You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it is being used, to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete, to erase data we no longer need to keep, or to withdraw consent you have previously given. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.

To make a request — including a request to delete your data — email dvaitamventures@gmail.com or call +91 91193 17319 with enough detail for us to identify your records. We will respond within a reasonable period, and in any case within the time the law allows. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy concern, you may raise it with the Data Protection Board of India.

Our services are sold to businesses, institutions and property owners, and neither the website nor the app is directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

The website links out to third-party destinations — our social media profiles, WhatsApp, government subsidy portals and manufacturer documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we would encourage you to read their policies before submitting anything to them.

The app does not browse the web. The only time it hands anything to another app is when a member of staff chooses to share a proposal PDF, and that file then travels under the receiving app's own privacy policy.

We will update this page when the website or the app changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example, if the app were ever to request an additional permission or add a third-party service. The date below always reflects the current version, and material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
