100 kW Solar Plant Cost — Industrial Solar EPC Pricing
A 100 kW solar plant generates roughly 1,60,000 units a year — about 430 to 450 units a day — at an indicative installed cost of ₹40,00,000 to ₹50,00,000. At this scale it is a captive generation asset for a manufacturing plant, an industrial campus or a large hospitality property, and it is delivered as a full EPC project rather than as an installation.

The array is the least interesting part. What decides whether a 100 kW plant performs is the engineering around it: structural capacity across a large roof area, the interface with an already-loaded electrical system, protection coordination, earthing and lightning protection across a much larger footprint, and a commissioning programme that proves performance with measurements.

100 kW solar system — cost, output and requirements
Every figure below is modelled for Jaipur-region conditions on a clean, unshaded, correctly designed array. They are planning numbers, not a quotation.
| System capacity | 100 kW |
|---|---|
| Indicative installed cost | ₹40,00,000 – ₹50,00,000 |
| PM Surya Ghar subsidy | Not applicable — the scheme covers residential connections only |
| Tax treatment | Accelerated depreciation available to profit-making entities |
| Daily generation | 430 to 450 units on an average day |
| Annual generation | About 1,60,000 units |
| Roof area required | About 7,500 sq ft, shade-free |
| Solar panels | 180 to 185 modules at present-day panel wattage |
| Indicative annual saving | About ₹14,40,000 |
| Simple payback | 3 to 4 years |
Pricing is an indicative installed-cost band, not a quotation. Roof type, structure, mounting height, cable run length and module availability all move the figure, and a firm price is issued only after a site survey. Generation assumes roughly 1,600 kWh per kWp per year; savings assume the tariff stated on this page. Subsidy figures follow PM Surya Ghar as currently notified — verify current rates at pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
In practice
What a 100 kW system actually powers
Capacity is easy to quote and hard to picture. This is what the generation covers in a real building.
- A multi-shift manufacturing plant
- A large industrial campus or process facility
- A resort or multi-building hospitality property
- A large cold chain or warehousing operation
Delivered as an EPC project, not an installation
A 100 kW plant is engineering, procurement and construction under one scope with defined stages: survey and feasibility, detailed design, procurement against specification, construction to method statements, and commissioning with documented results.
That structure exists to remove the seams. When design, supply and construction sit with different parties, the gap between them is where underperformance hides — and by the time it shows on a generation report, nobody owns it. One scope means the party that modelled the yield is the party that signs the commissioning report.
Connection, protection and power quality
At 100 kW the point of connection is a design decision, not a default. Depending on the site this may be an LT connection into a main panel with adequate headroom, or an HT interface with its own transformer and protection scheme. Sanctioned load, transformer capacity and existing utilisation all feed into it.
Industrial environments are also electrically noisy. Welding plant, VFDs, large motors and unbalanced loads all affect how inverters behave and how protection should be set. We assess the existing installation before designing the interface rather than assuming a clean supply.
Rooftop, ground-mount, or both
A 100 kW rooftop array needs around 7,500 sq ft of structurally sound, shade-free roof. Many industrial sites have the area but not the structure, and some have both roof and spare land — in which case a split configuration is often the best answer, using the sound part of the roof and placing the balance on ground.
We assess all three options against structure, shading, cleaning access and long-term maintainability, and recommend the one the site supports rather than the one that is quickest to build.

100 kW solar system — frequently asked questions
What is the cost of a 100kW solar plant in Rajasthan?
Indicatively ₹40,00,000 to ₹50,00,000 installed. Per kilowatt this is among the most cost-efficient scales for a captive plant, since design, mobilisation and process costs spread across substantial capacity. Where a project sits in the band depends on structure, the point of connection, whether an HT interface is required and site logistics.
How much land or roof does a 100kW plant need?
About 7,500 sq ft of structurally sound, shade-free roof, or roughly half an acre for a ground-mounted array with proper row spacing and maintenance access. Many industrial sites end up with a split configuration — the sound portion of the roof plus a ground-mounted balance — which is frequently the better engineering answer.
How much can a factory save with a 100kW solar plant?
Around ₹14,40,000 a year at an industrial tariff near ₹9 a unit with strong daytime self-consumption, giving a simple payback of three to four years before accelerated depreciation is taken into account. A multi-shift operation self-consumes more of its generation and does better; a single-shift unit with weekend shutdowns exports more and does slightly worse.
Do I need an HT connection for a 100kW solar plant?
It depends on the site. Some 100 kW plants connect at LT into a main panel with sufficient headroom; others need an HT interface with its own transformer and protection scheme. Sanctioned load, existing transformer capacity, current utilisation and the DISCOM's requirements decide it — which is why the connection study happens before the design is fixed, not after.
