Solar Panel Maintenance, O&M and AMC Plans in Jaipur
Dvaitam is a solar maintenance company in Jaipur providing O&M and AMC cover for rooftop and ground-mounted plants — from a 3 kW home system to industrial arrays — including systems we did not install. Cleaning matched to the site's actual soiling rate, preventive electrical checks against commissioning baselines, thermography, inverter service and monitoring review, under a contract that states exactly what is covered.
The case for maintenance in this region is not theoretical. Jaipur sits in a dust corridor, and an uncleaned array here gives back 8–15% of its output — silently, with no fault code and no alarm, just a bill that stopped shrinking as much as it should. A solar plant is a twenty-five-year asset; maintenance is the difference between owning one and merely having bought one.
What this service covers
- Any plant, any installer
- We maintain systems Dvaitam built and systems it did not. A takeover starts with an audit against the plant's own commissioning data — or establishes that baseline where none exists.
- Priced against the site
- Access difficulty, array height, soiling rate and distance from base set the real cost of maintaining a plant. We quote against those, not against a per-kW table.
- Measured, not just visited
- Every visit records readings against baseline — insulation, earth continuity, string performance — so the contract produces evidence, not just invoices.
What solar maintenance is worth in Jaipur
Jaipur's dust can cost an uncleaned array 8–15% of its generation. A 10 kW plant here produces roughly 16,000 units a year; recovering ten percent of lost output is about 1,600 units — around ₹11,000 at a domestic tariff and more at a commercial one. A properly priced AMC is close to break-even on cleaning alone, before a single avoided failure is counted.
Soiling is the visible loss. The expensive ones are quieter: a loose termination heating towards failure, a string down for months inside a monthly bill that still looks plausible, an inverter running derated because its fan intake is blocked, fixings working loose through thermal cycling. None of these announce themselves. All of them are cheap to find on a schedule and expensive to discover by breakdown.
That is why our maintenance visits measure rather than glance: readings are taken and compared against the plant's commissioning baseline, and the report tells you what changed — not just that someone attended.
What an AMC with Dvaitam covers
Two honest tiers, because sites differ in what they need. Indicative market pricing runs ₹500–₹1,200 per kW per year for non-comprehensive cover and ₹1,000–₹2,500 per kW comprehensive, falling sharply per kW with plant size — and we price against the actual site rather than the table.
Preventive cover (non-comprehensive)
Scheduled module cleaning at a frequency matched to your site's soiling rate, visual and mechanical inspection of structure and fixings, electrical checks — insulation resistance, earth continuity, terminal tightness — inverter service at manufacturer intervals, and a monitoring review with a plain-language generation report. Repairs and parts are quoted as needed.
Comprehensive cover
Everything above, plus defined repair scope and response times, annual thermographic scanning of every connection under load, string-level performance analysis, and coordination of warranty claims with module and inverter manufacturers — one contract, one number to call, evidence attached.
The preventive calendar that keeps output honest
- Cleaning: every two to four weeks through Jaipur's dry season for most sites, faster near construction, exhausts or agricultural dust — set by measured soiling, not habit, and always with water and access methods that do not scratch glass or void module warranties
- Annually: thermographic scan of every termination while the array generates — loose and corroding connections heat before they fail, and a camera finds them in minutes
- Annually: insulation resistance and earth continuity measured and compared with commissioning figures, structure and fixing torque checked, cable runs inspected for UV, abrasion and rodent damage
- At manufacturer intervals: inverter service — cooling paths, fans, DC terminations, firmware where applicable
- Continuously: monitoring reviewed for string-level anomalies, with generation reported monthly against the yield the plant should be producing for the weather it actually had
Generation audits and plants we did not install
A large share of maintenance enquiries start the same way: the system is generating less than it used to, or less than was promised, and the installer who promised it has stopped answering the phone. We take those plants on.
A takeover begins with a generation audit: as-built configuration checked against what the monitoring claims, string measurements and IV behaviour against module datasheets, insulation and earthing against standards, structure against the roof it sits on. The output is a written findings list separating what is dirty, what is broken, what is mis-designed and what is fine — each with a cost and a recovery estimate, so you can decide with numbers rather than reassurance.
Where the finding is that the plant was sized or built wrong, we will say so plainly and show the evidence. Where the finding is that it just needs cleaning and two terminations re-torqued, we will say that too — an audit that always recommends a big remediation is a sales document, not an audit.
Frequently asked questions
How often should solar panels be cleaned in Jaipur?
Every two to four weeks through the dry season for most sites — Jaipur's dust loading is heavy enough that quarterly cleaning quietly forfeits a meaningful slice of generation. Sites near construction, industrial exhausts or agricultural land need it faster. The monsoon helps but does not substitute: rain streaks and post-shower dust films still need periodic washing.
How much does a solar AMC cost?
Indicative market bands run ₹500–₹1,200 per kW per year for non-comprehensive cover and ₹1,000–₹2,500 per kW comprehensive, falling sharply per kW as plant size rises — a 5 kW home system typically lands at ₹5,000–₹12,000 a year comprehensive. We price against the actual site — access, height, soiling, distance — after an inspection, not from the table.
Do you maintain systems installed by other companies?
Yes, routinely. The takeover starts with a generation audit against the plant's commissioning data — or establishes a proper baseline where the original installer never left one. You get a written findings list with costs before any remediation is proposed, and the AMC begins from a documented starting point rather than a handshake.
Is maintenance really necessary if the system has no moving parts?
The parts that fail are not the ones that move. Dust steals 8–15% of output here; terminations loosen through thermal cycling; inverters — the component that works hardest — need their service intervals honoured; and a dead string can hide inside a plausible-looking bill for months. No moving parts means low maintenance, not none.
Does an AMC help with warranty claims?
Materially. Manufacturers assess claims against evidence, and a maintained plant has it: cleaning records, thermography images, insulation readings against baseline, monitoring history. Under comprehensive cover we run the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. A neglected plant, by contrast, hands the manufacturer an easy reason to argue improper upkeep.
What does a generation audit tell me that my monthly bill does not?
The bill tells you what you consumed from the grid; it cannot separate a dirty array from a dead string from a derated inverter from ordinary weather. An audit measures at string level, compares against commissioning baselines and weather-adjusted expected yield, and gives you a findings list stating what is actually wrong, what recovering it costs, and what it will return.
