Residential Solar for Homes in Jaipur and Across Rajasthan

Dvaitam is a residential solar company in Jaipur installing home rooftop systems from 2 kW to 10 kW — sized against your electricity bill, built to the specifications the PM Surya Ghar scheme requires, and connected under JVVNL net metering with the paperwork supported end to end. One team surveys the roof, engineers the system, installs it and stays answerable for it.

A home system is a different job from a commercial one, and not just in size. It goes onto an occupied house, it has to survive twenty-five Jaipur summers of dust and 45 °C rooftop heat without attention from a maintenance department, and it is usually the largest electrical purchase the household has ever made. The design decisions are small; the consequences of getting them wrong are not.

What this service covers

Sized to the bill, not the roof
Capacity set against twelve months of consumption and your sanctioned load — not against the maximum the salesperson can fit on the slab.
Subsidy-specification build
ALMM-listed modules and BIS-certified balance of system, installed by a DISCOM-registered vendor — the conditions the PM Surya Ghar scheme attaches to its money.
One accountable installer
Survey, design, installation, net metering and subsidy application support under one scope, with a single number to call afterwards.

What a home solar system costs in Jaipur

Indicatively ₹55,000–₹75,000 per kW installed before subsidy — roughly ₹1.7–2.2 lakh for 3 kW and ₹2.7–3.5 lakh for 5 kW. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy, a 3 kW system typically nets out near ₹1 lakh. The exact figure is confirmed after a site survey, because roof type, cable runs and structure decide the real number.

Per-kW cost falls as capacity rises, which is why a 5 kW system rarely costs two-thirds more than a 3 kW one. What moves the price at a given size is mostly invisible in a brochure: the mounting structure the roof actually needs, the cable run from array to inverter to meter, whether the earthing and surge protection are done properly, and the quality tier of modules and inverter.

Treat any precise price quoted before a site survey as a guess. We publish indicative bands and then quote a fixed price after standing on the roof — in that order, deliberately.

Indicative bands for the Jaipur region, confirmed only after a site survey. Subsidy amounts are set by MNRE under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, ₹18,000 for the third, capped at ₹78,000) and can be revised — verify current rates on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Generation assumes a clean, unshaded array at Jaipur's typical 1,550–1,650 kWh per kWp per year.

The PM Surya Ghar subsidy, done by the book

Residential consumers who own their property and hold a valid DISCOM connection can claim ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third — ₹78,000 total for systems of 3 kW and above. The application is made in your name on the official portal, pmsuryaghar.gov.in, and the subsidy is paid by the Government of India directly into your bank account after commissioning and inspection.

The scheme's conditions are specific: ALMM-listed modules, BIS-certified components, installation through a DISCOM-registered vendor, and a net meter commissioned and inspected before the subsidy is released. A system built outside those specifications is not a cheaper system — it is an ineligible one.

Dvaitam's role is support, not shortcuts: we help you register on the portal, prepare the feasibility application, install to the scheme's specifications as a registered vendor, coordinate the net-metering inspection, and stay engaged until the credit lands. The timeline from application to subsidy is governed by DISCOM and scheme processing, and no installer can honestly promise a date for it.

  • Eligibility checked before you commit — ownership, sanctioned load and whether a central solar subsidy was claimed on the property before
  • Application filed in your name on pmsuryaghar.gov.in, with every upload and follow-up supported
  • Installation to scheme specification: ALMM modules, BIS balance of system, registered-vendor execution
  • Net-metering application, inspection coordination and commissioning certificate included in scope

Sizing a system for a Jaipur home

Most Jaipur households that come to us run a 2–5 kW sanctioned load with two or three air conditioners, and their bill problem is a summer problem — modest for eight months, then a cliff from April to September. Rooftop solar suits that pattern well, because peak generation and peak cooling load land in the same hours.

The practical constraint is usable roof, not appetite. A typical independent house keeps 300–400 sq ft of genuinely shade-free area once the mumty, water tank, and the neighbour's winter shadow are subtracted — which lands most homes at 3 kW to 5 kW. That is also where the subsidy is most generous. Going bigger than your consumption justifies mostly manufactures cheap exports; going smaller than your load leaves subsidy and roof on the table. The sizing conversation is where an honest installer earns their fee.

Two checks before any quote: your sanctioned load, because JVVNL ties the permitted system capacity to it and an upgrade may need to be part of the plan; and the winter shadow path, because a roof that is clear in June can spend December mornings in the shade of the house next door.

What happens during a power cut

A standard grid-tied home system shuts down when the grid fails. That is anti-islanding — a mandatory safety function that stops your inverter energising a line a JVVNL crew may be working on — and no compliant installer can wire around it.

If outage backup genuinely matters at your address, the answer is a hybrid inverter with battery storage, designed in from the start. It costs meaningfully more, and in most of Jaipur city, where supply is comparatively stable, the honest advice is that a plain grid-tied system with the subsidy is the better use of money. Where we recommend hybrid, it is because your usage pattern justifies it — not because the invoice is larger.

Built to survive twenty-five Jaipur summers

Jaipur is one of India's best solar cities and one of its hardest on equipment: pre-monsoon dust that can cost an uncleaned array 8–15% of output, rooftop temperatures far above the module's 25 °C test condition, and monsoon bursts that find every unsealed penetration. A residential system has to be engineered for that reality, because no homeowner should need to think about their roof every week.

  • Structure engineered for wind uplift and, where the roof is in daily use, elevated so the space underneath stays usable
  • Earthing and surge protection done properly — the part of a cheap quote that is most often missing, and the part that protects everything else
  • Cable routed and UV-protected for the roof it is actually on, not stapled across a parapet
  • App-based generation monitoring configured at handover, so you can see a bad week before it becomes a bad quarter
  • A cleaning access route planned at design stage — panels you cannot reach are panels that stay dirty

Frequently asked questions

How much does a home solar system cost in Jaipur after subsidy?

A 3 kW system indicatively costs ₹1.7–2.2 lakh installed, and the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy brings the effective cost near ₹1 lakh. A 5 kW system at ₹2.7–3.5 lakh nets out around ₹2–2.7 lakh after the same capped subsidy. Exact pricing is confirmed after a site survey; subsidy rates are set by MNRE and should be verified on pmsuryaghar.gov.in.

Will a residential solar system run my air conditioners?

Yes, if it is sized for them — cooling load is exactly why most Jaipur homes land at 3–5 kW. A grid-tied system offsets the units your ACs consume rather than powering them in isolation: generation feeds the house first and the grid makes up the difference. What a standard system will not do is run ACs during a power cut; that requires a hybrid design with batteries.

How long does home solar installation take in Jaipur?

Physical installation is two to four days for a typical home system. The full journey from signing to a working net meter is generally six to ten weeks, nearly all of it JVVNL process time — feasibility approval, net-meter sanction and inspection scheduling. We file and follow all of it, and the subsidy is credited by the government after commissioning and inspection.

Is my roof suitable for solar panels?

Most Jaipur roofs are, but three things decide it: genuinely shade-free area (allow roughly 75 sq ft per kW), the structural condition of the slab or sheet, and the winter shadow path from neighbouring buildings, which matters more than the summer one. A site survey answers all three — and if the honest answer is that your roof only justifies 2 kW, that is the answer you will get.

Can I start with 3 kW and expand later?

Yes, if the first build anticipates it. We design the mounting layout, cable sizing and inverter choice so a later string can be added without redoing the installation. Two cautions: the subsidy claim is a one-time event per household, so claim it at the capacity you actually intend to own; and any expansion still has to fit within your sanctioned load and a fresh JVVNL approval.

What maintenance does a home solar system need?

Mostly cleaning — Jaipur dust can take 8–15% of output from a neglected array, so modules need washing every few weeks in the dry season. Beyond that: an annual electrical inspection, inverter servicing at the manufacturer's interval, and an eye on the monitoring app. We offer AMC plans that cover all of it, but we will also happily show a hands-on owner how to do the cleaning safely themselves.
