10 kW Solar System Price in Jaipur — Cost, Output and Returns
A 10 kW solar system generates roughly 16,000 units a year in Jaipur — about 43 to 45 units a day — at an indicative installed cost of ₹5,00,000 to ₹6,20,000. It is the size where residential and small-commercial solar meet: large villas, farmhouses, clinics, offices and showrooms all land here.
Indicative cost
₹5,00,000–₹6,20,000

Generates
43–45
units per day in Jaipur
Payback

years, at the tariff modelled below
At this capacity the subsidy stops being the deciding factor. A residential connection still receives the ₹78,000 ceiling, but that is now a small fraction of the project cost. What drives the decision at 10 kW is consumption: if you use 16,000 units a year, this system is close to full offset and pays back in four to five years.
Specification
10 kW solar system — cost, output and requirements
Every figure below is modelled for Jaipur-region conditions on a clean, unshaded, correctly designed array. They are planning numbers, not a quotation.
| System capacity | 10 kW |
|---|---|
| Indicative installed cost | ₹5,00,000 – ₹6,20,000 |
| PM Surya Ghar subsidy | ₹78,000 for residential connections |
| Indicative cost after subsidy | ₹4,22,000 – ₹5,42,000 |
| Daily generation | 43 to 45 units on an average day |
| Annual generation | About 16,000 units |
| Roof area required | About 700 sq ft, shade-free |
| Solar panels | 18 to 20 modules at present-day panel wattage |
| Indicative annual saving | About ₹1,12,000 |
| Simple payback | 4 to 5 years |
Pricing is an indicative installed-cost band, not a quotation. Roof type, structure, mounting height, cable run length and module availability all move the figure, and a firm price is issued only after a site survey. Generation assumes roughly 1,600 kWh per kWp per year; savings assume the tariff stated on this page. Subsidy figures follow PM Surya Ghar as currently notified — verify current rates at pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
In practice
What a 10 kW system actually powers
Capacity is easy to quote and hard to picture. This is what the generation covers in a real building.
- A large villa or farmhouse with heavy cooling load
- Multiple air conditioners running through the day
- Borewell and pressure pumping
- A small shop, clinic, office or guest house
Where 10 kW makes sense
Two very different buildings arrive at 10 kW. The first is a large villa or farmhouse with four or more air conditioners, borewell pumping and a summer bill above ₹8,000 a month. The second is a small commercial premises — a clinic, a showroom, an office floor — consuming steadily through daylight hours.
The commercial case is generally the stronger one, because commercial tariffs are higher than domestic and consumption aligns better with generation. The same 16,000 units displaced at a commercial tariff are worth substantially more than they are on a domestic connection.
Connection and sanctioned load at 10 kW
Ten kilowatts is where the electrical side stops being trivial. Your sanctioned load must support the system, the DISCOM's net-metering approval depends on it, and the connection is normally three-phase — which is an advantage, since it allows a balanced inverter configuration rather than loading one phase.
We check the sanctioned load from your bill before proposing a capacity. Where a load enhancement is needed, it becomes a planned step in the programme with its own timeline, rather than a discovery made after the modules are on the roof.
Roof area, structure and layout
A 10 kW array needs around 700 sq ft of genuinely usable, shade-free roof — and at this size row spacing to prevent self-shading becomes a real design constraint rather than a rounding error. The winter sun angle is what governs it, so a layout optimised on a June site visit will underperform every December.
Structural assessment is not optional at this scale. We check slab or shed capacity before layout, and where the structure will not take a ballasted array we either elevate, reinforce, or recommend a ground-mounted alternative if the site has the land.

10 kW solar system — frequently asked questions
What is the price of a 10kW solar system in Jaipur?
Indicatively ₹5,00,000 to ₹6,20,000 installed. Residential connections can still claim the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy, though at this capacity it covers a much smaller share of the cost than it does at 3 kW. Commercial connections are not eligible for the scheme but usually make a stronger case on tariff displacement alone.
How much does a 10kW solar system generate per day?
Around 43 to 45 units a day in Jaipur, or roughly 16,000 units a year. Over a 25-year module life that is approaching 400,000 units, allowing for the gradual annual degradation every panel experiences.
Do I need a three-phase connection for a 10kW system?
In practice, yes — a 10 kW system is normally connected on three-phase supply, and most DISCOMs require it at this capacity. It is also better engineering: a three-phase inverter configuration balances the load across phases rather than loading a single one. If your property is currently single-phase, the connection upgrade becomes a planned step in the project.
Is 10kW better as a rooftop or ground-mounted system?
Rooftop, if you have 700 sq ft of sound, shade-free roof — it uses space you are not otherwise monetising. Ground-mounted becomes the better answer when the roof structure is weak, when shading is unavoidable, or on farmhouse and industrial plots where spare land allows optimum tilt and much easier cleaning access. We assess both and recommend what the site actually supports.
